The universality of pop music can mean different things to different people. For Albertine Sarges – Berlin-born musician and producer – it’s a vessel that she uses for self-exploration and growth, never more so than on her debut album The Sticky Fingers (out in 2021 via Moshi Moshi Records). Approaching her take on feminist theory, musings on bisexuality, and mental health, Albertine Sarges musical endeavors move from Viv Albertine-inspired post-punk and kaleidoscopic dream-pop to quiet-loud guitar squall and Tune-Yards reminiscent vocal acrobatics. On stage, Albertine and her band take the audience through a surprising journey with twists and turns and sense of comedy, displaying an insatiable mix of avant-garde pop, weird folk, magical flute, and impeccably groovy bass. The new EP “Family of Things” will be released on November 25th, 2022 via Moshi Moshi Records.
