Gotobeat presents: Sapphic Soirée with Ella Eliza, Thea Hallow, Ruby Duff
Gotobeat is teaming up with SJQ to welcome an amazing showcase of Queer female artists with Thea Hallow, Ella Eliza and Ruby Duff.
Thea Hallow is an emerging contemporary R&B singer/songwriter hailing from South London. Surrounded by a rich tapestry of musical influences from a young age, Thea’s sound is a blend of jazz, gospel, and hip-hop, with a deep-rooted passion for the soulful vibes of 90s and 00s R&B. Drawing inspiration from legends like Erykah Badu, Brandy, and D’Angelo, alongside contemporary artists such as Jhené Aiko, Kehlani, and Chris Brown, her music resonates with both nostalgia and modernity.
Since launching her music career in 2020, Thea has performed at notable events, including Wireless Festival, and gained significant recognition after starring on BBC’s “I Kissed a Girl.” A pivotal moment came in 2019 when she was invited to perform on stage with R&B artist JVCK JAMES after he noticed her voice in the crowd. This experience ignited her confidence and fueled her ambition to make her mark in the music industry. With her soulful cadence and exceptional storytelling ability, Thea Hallow is poised to captivate audiences and leave an indelible impression on the contemporary R&B scene, with a growing fanbase that continues to support her artistic journey.
Hailing from Germany but now based West London, Ella Eliza is a dynamic force as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Her journey took flight with her self-produced debut EP ‘INTROSPECTION’, earning acclaim from tastemakers like Wonderland, Dummy, and Earmilk, while also gaining traction on Spotify and BBC Music Introducing London.
Having already marked milestones like a sold-out headline at Notting Hill Arts Club, Ella has been making waves headlining venues like The Grace and supporting acts such as Nonô in their London shows, all while catching the ear of Gemma Bradley on BBC Radio 1. Her music, a fusion of synth sounds and rich harmonies, delves into themes of self discovery, sexuality, spirituality and empowerment, reflecting her own journey and embracing a wider adolescent narrative. Some of her influences are: Sigrid, Griff, FLETCHER, Reneé Rapp, Tove Lo, MUNA and Caroline Polachek’.
Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Ruby Duff: eccentric and honest music for the unconventional pop lover. The Yorkshire born artist is inextricably pushing boundaries with her quirky songwriting and visceral live performances.
