ILK + Olmo Cassiba
Lima Limo Presents is back with a second series of eclectic events at Servant Jazz Quarters this year.
Headlining this month are the experimental art pop band ILK. The band started out collaborating on mixtapes and instrumentals forged from their own scrap book of collected sounds before weaving vocals into the mix. The result is a collection of tracks that combines a loop-based, organic production style, at times bold yet blended subtly with live instrumentation. Ilk recently teamed up with the acclaimed producer Matthew Herbert on their upcoming album ‘YU’ which is due for release on 11th August via Accidental Records.
As always the evening will begin with a unique solo set, this time in the form of a Solo Tabla performance from Olmo Cassibba. Olmo is a London based multi-instrumentalist hailing from Sicily. He began his musical journey studying North Indian Classical Tabla of the Banaras gharana style before going on to study Jazz. Having collaborated with the likes of Roots Manuva, Eric Lau and Flako along with an array of other artists and producers, Olmo is currently working on his debut solo EP, that draws on influences from nature and both eastern and western musical traditions.
