Jason McNiff + Emma Tricca + The Gentle Good
Hailed by Mojo as ‘One of the UK’s best kept secrets’ and by Guitar Quarterly as ‘Britain’s greatest contemporary fingerstyle guitarist’, Jason has released five albums of quasi Country, Folk & Blues, drawing on influences on either side of the Atlantic – Jansch, McTell, Jones, Graham & Renbourn together with Van Zandt, Clark, Cohen & Dylan. Tonight marks the relase of a new double CD, ‘Rain Dries Your Eyes’ which collects his best work, old and new.
Italian born Emma Tricca blossomed out of the Folk Studio and 12 Bar Club to release two acclaimed albums for Finders Keepers, ‘carving folk’s new golden era’. She plays an old 1920s Martin with style and panache, can fingerpick like Joan Baez, and has a voice at once powerful and fragile.
The Gentle Good is the stage name of Cardiff based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gareth Bonello. Influenced by the traditional music and folklore of Wales along with a myriad of sources from further afield, Gareth creates timeless folk music in both English and Welsh.
Best known for his intricate guitar playing and haunting vocals, Gareth has enchanted audiences all over the world; from top UK festivals such as Glastonbury and The Green Man to car parks and bars in Texas to the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing.
