Kingsland records presents a night of vinyl DJs on rotation playing rarities and classics to move your feet! Expect to be taken on a journey through Africa and across the world with music from all corners. Kingsland records is an exciting new record shop at 492 kingsland road. Born out of local reggae soundsystem Kingland Ites. The shop specialises in new and used Reggae, Jazz, Latin and African vinyl. Check out their YouTube channel for a taste of what’s in store. DJs on the night Shubha G Kathmandu born, London based – sound man and artist. Shubha G has recorded with many notable musicians and producers over the years. A selector/ operator for Hackney based label and analogue sound system, Kingsland Ites. The label has three releases under their belt and many more in pipeline. They are also known locally for all inclusive community soundsystem events which takes place every year in Gillet Square, Dalston Kingsland. Chief commander Yaaba The leader of London-based hi-life/afro-funk band, Yaaba Funk. Richmond ‘chief commander’ has been collecting vinyl as long as he can remember and is known for his high energy DJ sets. Playing all over the world and a favourite at festivals such as Africa oye. Darsi Darsi’s extensive 35+ years of DJ experience, with residencies on stations like Loose FM and Itch, as well as guest slots on NTS and Soho Radio, showcases a diverse musical journey. His eclectic style, spanning jazz, Brazilian, Afro, reggae, boogie, funk, house, and disco, promises a delightful and genre-blending experience for both your mind and your dancing feet! Dawit Dawit moved to north london about 15 years ago. He has been trying to stay out of trouble ever since. Dawit has previously done a bit of DJing on radio, Netil, NTS, and most recently with Kingsland Records. Don’t miss this eclectic night of music!
