Larsen + Paul Beauchamp

Larsen, from Torino Italy has in 20 years of activity released 15 full length albums and 3 eps, which got remarkable press on both sides of the Atlantic, and performed all over the world. Collaborations (in studio and/or on stage) with such artists as Michael Gira, Martin Bisi, Matt Howden, Lustmord, Deathprod, Origami Galaktika, Nurse With Wound, z’ev, Baby Dee, Julia Kent, David Tibet, Johann Johannsson and sci-fi icon Christine Schell plus the project- a band in itself- XXL (aka Xiu Xiu + Larsen) also stand out on their record.

Larsen has also released soundtracks, both for movies and theatre plays, including the award winner Cartoanimalettimatti (commissioned by the University of Torino for Winsor McKay‘s silent animated movies).

In 2008 legendary dub-diva Little Annie (a.k.a. Annie Anxiety Bandez) joined the band as lead singer and lyricist appearing on “La Fever Lit” and “Cool Cruel Mouth” and live on stage on the consequent tours.

2016 sees the band representing itself as instrumental unit with a new album “Of Grog Vim” (featuring special guest Thor Harris from Swans) to be released on Important Records.

“Larsen fly high thanks to their talent in experimenting. The melodies weaved by the various instruments are captivating. Never conventional. A somber atmosphere pierced by dazzling flashes of light” – Muzzart

“OF GROG VIM is an impressive multifaceted album and when it comes to innovation Larsen is many steps ahead of other bands” – 9/10, Oxzine

“A very high-quality set based on their new album “Of Grog Vim” plus a few classics from their repertoire…Larsen has a solid but extremely cinematic sound, intense, dark but open, elegant, and they proved, if it was still needed, to be a great band by delivering a stunning concert” – Rockambula
