Laurent John

Laurent John is soon to be giving music fans everywhere an unexpected early Christmas treat, by unveiling new material as 2017 winds to a close. Laurent’s single ‘Decisions’ from the new EP ‘Fragments’ is set to be released worldwide on 10th November 2017, followed by single two from the EP ‘Fragments’ hitting digital stores, on 15th December 2017. The EP ‘Fragments’ will then be released on 12th January 2018.

With a style all his own and a voice which was described as ‘the voice of a god’ by fellow musician Nicky Night Time of NAATIONS, the EP looks set to help reinforce Laurent John’s place as one of the top new figures in modern music.

“His voice and range is ridiculous, and he is a genuinely lovely human being,” says Cory Enemy, who has worked with the likes of Carly Rae Jepson, Jamie Lidell and Justin Bieber. Enemy isn’t the only contemporary gushing over Laurent John’s unique musical flair. “One
of the most incredible voices I’ve ever heard,” was the response from Dallas Austin, who has worked with and produced talent including TLC, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson.

Hailing from Antigua and Barbuda, Laurent now lives and works in East London, where he has been carving out his own brand of alternative and electro soul. The music veers between earnest introspection, focusing on difficult topics such as climate change, to universal concerns like self-esteem, fear, addiction and of course the great equalizer – love. Reflective and lyrical, Laurent’s music steers away from the norm to create sparse soundscapes filled with soulful vocals and uplifting beats.

Laurent has been a guest vocalist at prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury and Bestival, as well as collaborating with drum and bass act Dr Meaker on singles ‘Good Fight’, Teddy Killerz ‘Stockholm’ and David Dallas’ ‘Fit In’. Laurent is also currently writing for a number of top producers in London, Australia and Los Angeles whilst await the release of the Fragments EP.
