Michael Crean & Boci

A unique evening of contemporary folk music, violin looping, spoken word and innovative live electronics.

Michael Crean is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. His live shows are a tapestry of folk songs, spoken word, heartfelt electronica and jazz alongside virtuosic multi-instrumental performances.

Michael started playing violin at the age of 4 and piano at age 10. As a teenager he discovered electronic music, jazz and folk. He trained in both Music Composition and theatre-making.

Crean’s work is a result of this eclectic experience. In January 2023, 26-year-old Crean released his tempestuous debut solo Album ’Songs to the Sea’ – a project he has worked on over the last 5 years. This unique concept Album combines surreal stories of isolation and obsession, with deep electro-acoustic textures.

Drawing on a range of influences from Kae Tempest, Complicite Theatre Company, Radiohead and Oliver Coates, Crean creates a unique and unpredictable show. The band features some of London’s best young musicians, including Drummer Luke Robinson and Saxophonist / Pianist Antonio Tarrizzo.

“…an emotional masterpiece beautifully delivered. An early contender for Album of the Year” – York Calling

“An incredibly evocative, organic and elemental experience” – Listen with Monger

Boci is a Bristol based violin looper and singer-songwriter released her debut album ‘we are each other, this will set us free’ in August 22 which has received support from Songlines (★★★★), BBC introducing and BBC 6 music.

With Northern European folk, prog-folk, classical, alt-pop and nu-jazz influences, boci’s astral dream-folk sound world is woven with layers of euphoric string textures, crystalline vocals, expansive synths and therapeutic percussive grooves. Her message is one of unity, connection and healing.
