Otis Mensah

Otis Mensah is a performing artist exploring the intersection of poetry, jazz and experimental music. Taking influence from the rhythmic and expressive freedom of Jazz, Otis’ work uses aesthetic language as an instrument to solo through themes of identity, existence & coming-of-age.

Building on earlier work & his tenure as Sheffield’s first Poet Laureate, Otis continues to release music independently with his lockdown project #OtisMensahExists, a series of new songs & animations exploring existential angst in the digital age. The first song Breath Of Life was premiered on Worldwide FM and features Samuel T. Herring of Future Islands, followed by The Thinks making appearances on Bandcamp Weekly & BBC Radio 6 Music.

Throughout his career, Otis has performed at Glastonbury, Standon Calling, We Out Here and Shambala Festival as well as sharing stages with the likes of Benjamin Zephaniah & Little Simz.

London-born and Hertfordshire-raised genre blending singer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist Treasure Bloom f.k.a. Treasure has an impressive track record of releases since his 2019 debut. The electronic experimentalist extraordinaire writes and produces all his music in his home studio with influences ranging from Frank Ocean-esque progressive R&B to stripped down acoustic folk all the way to his musical upbringings in metal. It’s this unpredictable, sometimes even contradicting nature that makes Treasure Bloom one of the most fascinating new artists in the UK. “Nostalgia” is the follow-up to “Nostalgia: The Prelude”, which came out under his former moniker in 2020. Whilst the latter was still self-released, Treasure decided to take the next step in becoming Treasure Bloom and teamed up with Berlin-based record label Kommerz Records for the release of “Nostalgia”. Still being at an early stage of his career, he’s already got support from multiple stations on the BBC Radio circuit, received a lot of love from playlisters, blogs and tastemakers allike.
