Oxjam Dalston: Raw Meat Takeover with Brother Zulu + Big Tooth + The DAs
Oxjam is the music fundraising arm of Oxfam. Organised entirely by music loving volunteers in towns and cities across the UK, Oxjam brings together a variety of musical talent on one day in October to raise money to help Oxfam combat poverty and suffering around the world. Local music, global impact.
Online music magazine Raw Meat will be curating this year’s event.
“Tastemakers Raw Meat hand pick the freshest and tastiest music news and reviews for their readers. Unbiased and opinionated.”
Despite being brand spanking new, The DAs play a tight, exciting live show, packed full of fresh, wobbly pop gems.
Dreamy alt-pop band Big Tooth use crafted bass lines and wistful vocals to create timeless songs. Their song writing is equal parts wisdom that draws on the past, and originality that will carry them long into the future.
Brother Zulu are fronted by jazz pianist and classically trained flautist, Lawrence Ajadi, and songwriter child-signing Max Tuohy. Their two different schools of musical thought come together to create a soulful funk band with a hip hop lyrical flow.
