Presenting Solo Collective, featuring collaborative performances from German classical/experimental musicians and composers Anne Müller (cello) and Alex Stolze (violin), with British pianist and producer Sebastian Reynolds. The evening will feature solo performances by Anne and Alex, and then a trio performance of Sebastian’s music. References for the music include the electro-acoustic piano music of Brian Eno, the counterpoint music of Steve Reich, and the influence of modern classical electronica innovators such as Murcof and the experimental composition of Arvo Pärt.
Anne Müller is an acclaimed cellist who is involved in a variety of different musical worlds. Born and raised in Berlin, she studied classical performance at the famed ‘Hanns Eisler’ Academy and completed her Masters degree at the Frankfurt University of Music. Anne is a frequent contributor to recordings on the UK-based neo-classical label Erased Tapes; through the label she has collaborated with, amongst others, German Pianist Nils Frahm (2011 “7fingers” // 2015 Music for the Motion Picture “Victoria”, German Film Awards: Best Film Score). Between 2009-2014 she worked and toured with Danish singer/pianist Agnes Obel. Her most recent collaborative work was the 2016 project where she guested on German musician Markus Sieber’s “Aukai” album.
Alex Stolze is a German violinist, composer and producer touring his recent Mankind Animal album. Having found much acclaim via his work with electronica acts Bodi Bill and Unmap, and having toured the world with experimental avant jazz trio Dictaphone, Alex is ready to further establish his reputation as a truly groundbreaking instrumentalist and producer. Performing with his unique, custom-made five-string electro-acoustic violin, Alex is a pioneering figure in his field of modern classical/post-pop musical explorations.
