Conjuring big beats and a vast array of sonic possibilities, Strobes flickers effortlessly between the worlds of electro­improv, minimalist polyrhythm, Afrocentric grooves and distinctively original hooks. Featuring three talents previously heard with the likes of Squarepusher, Matthew Herbert and Three Trapped Tigers this group epitomises the desire to abandon genre­specific ties in favour of a more eclectic and individual sound.

Built from collective composition, studio production, live sampling and improv. jams, each track has its own character – ranging from fiery, exhilarating odd­tempo loops, to polyphonic synth soundscapes and ‘beats that make loose clothing shimmer and earings rattle’ (TheArtsDesk).
