The Honey Ants + Shea
The Honey Ants are John Grímsey and Rebecca Hamer. They write, perform and record Nashville-infused Americana blended with a distinctly London sound. They call it Atlanticana.
To date they’ve seen support from PRS International Showcase Fund, Music Week, Record of the Day, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, CBC Radio 2 (Canada), WFUV (New York) and Amazing Radio amongst others.
2016 through 2017 saw them back and forth to Nashville, co-writing with internationally renowned local songwriters, and they are currently busy in the studio recording for a 2018 release.
“The Honey Ants vocal harmonies give the AC a run for its money, John Grímsey’s Harry Nilsson-esque croon mixing so perfectly with Rebecca Hamer’s sweeter touch as to induce goose bumps and foot stomping from the audience where percussion would be” – The Line Of Best Fit
“Textured to perfection, we’ll happily lose ourselves in this for days on end” – Record of the Day
“…Americana/Alt-Folk at its finest” – Too Many Blogs
Support comes from Shea, a Americana-tinged singer-songwriter originally from Co. Tyrone now Living in London, who recently finished recording his debut album in Portland, Oregon.
