Tommy Ashby

The release of Tommy’s first official single  GUILTY  in November 2017 caused quite a stir. With great press and a big ‘thumbs up’ from Record Of The Day, Guilty put Tommy firmly on the singer/songwriter map and featured in two episodes of the original Netflix drama The Innocents. He has since released the Restless Love EP (supported by BBC Radio 2, BBC Scotland, Record Of The Day, Spotify and Apple amongst others) and toured Europe with Jamie Lawson on the Ed Sheeran arena tour. Getting Started from the EP has featured in both Grey’s Anatomy and NBC’s Midnight Texas and Bowlegged received great tastemaker support from the alt folk scene including this glowing review and beautiful bespoke video.

Born and raised in the Scottish borders, Tommy’s style is informed by the great American songwriters of his parents’ record collection, as it is by the wilds of the landscape around him. An incredible and in-demand guitarist, Tommy’s guitar is the bloodline of his sound, alongside his quietly soaring vocals. He works with Grammy winning engineer/producer Sam Okell to produce his unique sounding recordings. Recent live shows for Communion, Southbank Centre, Sofar, LGM and Never Fade have established Tommy’s presence as a solo artist on the London live scene. He has just finished a Highlands support tour for Sean McGowan following his performance on the BBC Scotland Quay Sessions including a captivating cover version of Annie Lennox’s WHY.

Tommy has two London headline shows coming up and is currently supporting Tom Speight. Previous supports include The Xcerts, Rhodes, Nina Nesbitt and Jamie Lawson. He is currently writing the debut album and putting finishing touches to his next EP due for release February 2019.
