Sameer Rahat aka SR is a Performer, Poet and a Film composer from Bombay, India. His journey from being an indie singer-songwriter to a peerless film music composer spans over 17 years.

SR’s ability to merge the borders of music and poetry through his writing and visual storytelling, mark a literary confluence that is both rare and remarkable. He masterfully captures the essence of the Urdu language while unearthing authentic, raw and original experiences in today’s world.

While growing up, he was cradled in poetry and literature by his parents who are Legendary Urdu poets and hence, lyricism is a big part of his music repertoire. SR has also worked with several music directors in the capacity of a lyricist over the years.

As an independent musician, he has two acclaimed albums, ‘Aamad’ and the upcoming ‘Puraana’, to his name. And as a composer he has also shaped the sound of major Netflix, Amazon Prime and Sony Liv shows and films like, ‘Modern Love’, ‘Little Things’, ‘Faraaz’ and more.
