Voodoo Sessions

Dom Pipkin (piano/organ) & Roy Pfeffer (drums) take to the stage for a night of wild & abandoned New Orleans styled rhythm & blues.

Dom Pipkin is ‘the UK’s best-kept piano secret’ (‘I can’t hold a candle to this guy’ – Jamie Cullum), and one of the foremost exponents of New Orleans funk and blues in Europe. Working with just a drummer here he recreates the groves of the Meters, Eddie Bo, Professor Longhair and Dr John to name just a few, plus his own original compositions. The duo conjure up a colourful and spicy gumbo of New Orleans rhythm and blues, turning the Jazz Quarters into a Bourbon or Frenchmen Street dive bar.

“Simply amazing” London Culture Club

“Dom brings the whole New Orleans thing to the UK. So good!” Zigaboo Modeliste of international supergroup The Meters and godfather of New Orleans funk drumming
